You must not sit on or climb over the ice rink barriers.

Top Skating Tips

A first aid room is available within the rink marquee; please see a rink steward or manager for assistance.

If you fall, try to fall forwards, bring your hands off the ice. To get up, bring one leg up, put both hands on your knee and push yourself up. Do not crawl to the side of the barriers. If you can not get up attract attention of a rink steward.

Be aware of your limits and do not exceed them. If you need help please ask a rink steward.

We recommend wearing long clothing; make sure legs and arms are protected from the ice. Socks and gloves must be worn. Avoid long coats, scarves and jewellery.

Ensure that your skate laces or buckles are tight and offering good support. Please ask a member of staff if you require help. Plastic inner socks will be offered to ensure your feet stay dry, please place the socks in the bin before leaving.

Do not take your shoes off before reaching the counter. Do not put your skates on until you reach your seat. Please carry your skates by the heel not the blade as it is sharp. When changing please try and find a seat at the end of a row, please stay seated until instructed otherwise. Please be careful as you are putting skates on or walking in your skates near other users.

For anyone who has not skated before it is recommended to attend a short lesson with a rink steward to be given on the basics of skating. This is to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable skating experience. You will be asked by staff about this prior to going onto the rink.
