And it’s the comeback of Lincoln BIG’s popular ice rink on November 26 that’s causing all the excitement, as teachers start making plans for school skating sessions on the City Square rink.
The popular attraction will stay in place until January 3, but school skating is o offer from Mondays to Friday, between 10am and 3pm, from November 27 through to December 18.
Teachers have the chance to book 45-minute sessions, costing £3 per child and £6 per adult, which includes the hire of skates. Ice marshalls will be on the rink at all times.
Schools, outside of Lincoln, who are particularly quick off the mark can benefit from a transport subsidy of between £50 and £100, depending on the distance being travelled.
For schools within the city boundary, Stagecoach may be able to provide buses to and from the rink, free of charge.
Lincoln BIG Events Assistant Rachel Hanson said: “We only started writing to schools about the opportunity to book the rink last week and we have already had a really healthy response.
SCHOOLCHILDREN and students are eagerly looking forward to the festive season – despite having only just returned to the classroom after the long Summer break.
"We are also hoping to hear from companies which might be interested in booking sessions on the rink – we think it would make the ideal alternative office outing!”
