Lincoln BIG

RIB-TICKLING FUN

TICKETS are being snapped-up for the Lincoln Comedy Festival as people rush to forget their workday blues.

Organisers of this year’s event are promising a programme packed with laughs. And it includes a special deal for Lincoln BIG levypayers, allowing get their fun for free.

Last year a programme called ‘Suck It and See’, which took place on festival Saturday, gave people a cheaper way of discovering how different comedians perform.

Now festival director Shaun Almey has built on that concept. This year people can enjoy a string of shows running for an hour, starting every one-and-a-half hours, on Saturday and Sunday (October 3 and 4).

“We are also running a special ticket deal and a day ticket offer to tempt people to come and see more than one show and to spend some time in Lincoln,” he said.

This year’s venues include The Drill Hall, The Engine Shed and the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre, which will host a line-up of well known actors who have appeared on television and radio.

It is hoped that the festival will becoming an annual fixture on Lincoln’s cultural calendar.

“Tickets are selling well and this year’s event promises to be another great Festival,” said Mr Almey.

This year’s programme includes:

Oct 3
2pm Charlie Chuck 3.30pm
Gary Delaney 5pm Matt Forde,
Danny McLoughlin and Chris Stokes
6.30pm Peacock & Gamble

Oct 4
2pm Josie Long
3.30pm Paul Sinha
5pm Pappy’s Fun Club
6.30pm Jason Cook

“People like Charlie Chuck, Paul Sinha , Pappy’s Fun Club and Jason Cook were four and five star performers at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They will be huge in the coming years,” added Mr Almey.

Lincoln BIG levypayers have the chance to get free Festival tickets – 10 are available for each of the above Saturday and Sunday Shows, which take place at the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre. For more information call Lincoln BIG events and promotions manager Michael Armstrong on (01522) 545711
