Lincoln BIG and its partner organisation Visit Lincoln today congratulated staff at a city hotel on its success on winning a prestigious accolade.
They said it was great to hear that the Holiday Inn Lincoln at Brayford Wharf had been named “Hotel of the Year 2016” by its parent company, Key Green Hotels, at such a busy time for the city.
Kew Green Hotels owns and manages 55 hotels in the UK and made the announcement at its recent annual awards ceremony.
Holiday Inn Lincoln General Manager Charlotte Allison, who has worked there since 2012, said the hotels bedrooms and bathrooms had undergone a full refurbishment. The hotel now also features a Sports Bar and Starbucks.
Among other key achievements in 2016, the hotel accomplished 94 per cent in its internal employee engagement metric – and was placed 2nd within Kew Green Hotels customer service ratings.
“I am absolutely delighted that we have won this award. The team here is dedicated to providing an excellent experience for our guests, meeting our company objectives and being part of a hotel everyone can be proud of.”
Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Matt Corrigan said: “We want to congratulate the Holiday Inn Lincoln on its achievements, which have been announced in what is yet another milestone year for the city, which is attracting a rising number of tourists, new businesses and shoppers.”
Head of Visit Lincoln Lydia Rusling said: “News of this award is fantastic. It comes as a sister company Meet Lincoln & Lincolnshire is working harder than ever to spread the word that Lincoln is a great destination for day and staying visitors, shoppers and conference organisers.
“In addition to having exciting historic and contemporary attractions, from Lincoln Castle and Lincoln Cathedral to this year’s colourful Lincoln Knights’ Trail, we have so much more to offer. We pride ourselves on giving visitors the warmest of welcomes and having award-winning hotels plays an important role in that respect.”
