Businesses across Lincolnshire are invited to a special industry focused event where they will learn more about Visit Lincoln’s marketing plans for 2017 and how they can join in the city’s events programme this year, which includes the Battle of Lincoln and the Charter of the Forest anniversaries.
The free event on Tuesday 28 February at the Doubletree by Hilton (4pm to 6pm) is also a key opportunity for business owners to discover more about the Cultural Destinations funding and to take away the 2017 marketing toolkit, which can be used in their own marketing.
Lydia Rusling, the new Head of Visit Lincoln, said: “This event gives businesses the tools needed to participate in the wider marketing of Lincoln.
“There are a lot of exciting plans for 2017 and we want to share them with our partners and the wider business community.
“There’s so much going on, and if we work together we can encourage even more people to visit our beautiful city and surrounding countryside.
“Headline activities include the Knights’ Trail and Battle of Lincoln anniversary in May, plus the Charter of the Forest anniversaries in October; not to mention new funding streams from Cultural Destinations and other business support funding that is available.
The event will include a short introduction from Mark Hollingworth, Chair of Visit Lincoln and a more in-depth presentation from Clare William, Marketing and Business Development Manager at Visit Lincoln, celebrating the successes achieved in 2016.
Matt Corrigan will then follow with information about Lincoln’s 2017 events programme and the Cultural Destination fund. Lydia Rusling, Head of Visit Lincoln, will then talk about her vision for Visit Lincoln in 2017 and beyond.
Refreshments will be provided and business networking will also be encouraged. The event is free to attend but places much be booked in advance through the Visit Lincoln website.
