Lincoln BIG has launched its Lincoln in Bloom initiative for 2018 and encouraged businesses to join it in celebrating the 100th anniversary of the RAF, by investing in making the city extra vibrant and welcoming for shoppers and visitors.
It’s that time of year again, when Lincoln BIG invites its levy payers to shake off the winter blues and start thinking about brightening their patch ready for Summer!
Lincolnshire’s rich aviation heritage will be at the forefront of its activities this year, with a wide range of tours, trails and events reflecting our strong connections with the RAF.
One of the most important events will be the RAF100 weekend, which will include Lincoln 1940s Weekend. It takes place on Saturday and Sunday, August 11 and 12.
This year’s Lincoln In Bloom initiative has seen us, once again working in partnership with Continental Landscapes Ltd, to offer businesses of all sizes the opportunity to tap into our subsidised floral offers (these exclude VAT).
There are options to suit all businesses, from packages which include a Summer Basket, St Georges Flag, Lincolnshire Flag and even a Christmas Tree, These range from £98 to £111, plus VAT, after qualifying for a £50 subsidy.
Individual hanging basked cost between £60, plus VAT to £76 plus VAT per basket, after allowing for the £50 subsidy, and St Georges and Lincolnshire Flags can be purchased separately for £18, plus VAT (after subsidy). A wall-mounted Christmas Tree costs £40, plus VAT (after subsidy).
Lincoln BIG Business Support Manager Richard Baxter said: “We are encouraging businesses to tap into our annual subsidised offer, and they are welcomed to get in touch if they have other requirements under the In Bloom Scheme.
“Continental Landscapes is the direct point of contact and will be responsible for arrange the displays, installing them and keeping them looking at their best, but to ensure these are ready for installing by the first week of June, business owners and managers need to get their orders in by the end of March,” he said.
