Lincoln BIG is urging shoppers and visitors to make it easier on themselves this Christmas by making the most of a special festive Park & Ride.
The Business Improvement Group has partnered with Stagecoach and the Lincolnshire Showground and organised a special Christmas Park & Ride deal that’s easy to use, low-cost and takes the headache of finding a parking spot at a phenomenally busy time of the year.
Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Matt Corrigan said: “Our Christmas Park & Ride deal has been set-up specially to help people to make the most of two really special weekends in Lincoln.
“It will be operating on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 9, 10 and 11 of December – just in time for the visit of the spectacular Coca-Cola Truck to the St Mark’s area of the city, which is expected to attract families from miles around.
“The parking deal will also be available on 16, 17 and 18 December, which is traditionally Lincoln’s busiest shopping weekend of the year.”
People can Park & Ride from Gate 1 at the Lincolnshire Showground (LN2 2NA), between 9am and 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and between 10am and 5pm on Sundays. (These times apply to the first bus leaving the Showground and the last returning from Lincoln Bus Station).
“We have kept the cost as low as possible. Adults will be charged £2.50, while children go free and buses will be running every 20 minutes (or less) where possible,” said Mr Corrigan.
Buses will stop in the Cathedral Quarter (by the Lincoln Hotel in Northgate; in Broadgate – for easy access to the Cornhill Quarter and the High Street – and Lincoln’s Temporary Bus Station, which is convenient for the High Street and St Marks areas.
