New figures reveal that shoppers, events and competition-lovers are having a great time using Lincoln’s shopping app.
Lincoln BIG introduced the LoyalFree App at the end of February, in a drive to encourage shoppers and tourists to make plenty of repeat visits to city shops and attractions.
Now we have around 1,500 users – with more people downloading it every day to their smartphones.
Users are tapping on the App to claim fantastic discounts, free drinks, discover exciting trails and keep up-to-date about local events. At the time of writing, there are over 100 deals available in the city, 29 digital loyalty schemes and six trails to enjoy. These include popular trails such as “Dog Friendly Lincoln” and “Entertainment in Lincoln.”
LoyalFree developer and co-founder Sophie Hainsworth said: “When looking at the statistics for the city’s Business Improvement District (BID), Lincoln BIG and other BIDS which have bought into our offer, it is clear uptake in Lincoln is particularly high.”
The latest statistics reveal that Lincoln has at least 1,513 engaged App users, and there have been 16,010 interactions between businesses and shoppers to date. These results are for five months from the launch of the new app into the city and demonstrate the need for a local platform for visitors and locals alike.
In addition, people have redeemed 4,536 offers and loyalty stamps offered by the App. The ability to track the redemptions in the areas allows businesses to see how well their offers perform and in Lincoln the uptake has been particularly impressive.
The App also features competitions. One currently running gives users the chance to win a year’s free membership to new Lincoln city centre Energie Fitness. It is worth £350!
Sophie said: “It is great that the App has been widely promoted by Visit Lincoln and we are excited it will also be heavily promoted during the Lincoln Freshers’ Week, which runs from September 15 to 22 and during the city’s Steampunk Festival, during August 23 to 26.”
Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Sarah Loftus said: “As our levy payers will have seen in our Ballot Renewal Prospectus for 2020-2025, we are committed to making a difference for them now and in the future.
“We are determined to offer levy payers the best value return for the amount they pay us and the introduction of the LoyalFree App is certainly encouraging increasing numbers of shoppers and visitors to take advantage of some great discounts and deals and make return visits to businesses.”
