Music lovers are being encouraged to make their Saturday shopping spree in Lincoln extra special by taking time out to relax to some great sounds.
June 22 sees the return of the fifth FREE Music In The Garden event at St Marks Shopping Centre.
Lincoln BIG has, once again, teamed-up with St Marks to help stage five hours of entertainment in the railed garden area next to Debenhams – from 11am to 4pm.
Co-organiser Steve Jackson (Strummin’ Steve) has lined-up five acts, which will be performing on a small stage area, using a professional sound set-up.
The concert kicks off at 11am with Lincoln Klezmer band Simcha. It will be followed at noon by the popular instrumental jazz duo Double Take.
At 1pm, it’s the turn of The Ministry of Ukes, with its unique take on a range of pop and rock classics.
The Lincoln Rock Choir makes its first appearance at this event at 2pm, before Grimsby’s Stompin’ Steve, takes to the stage at 3pm, with his cigar box open tuning blues.
St Marks Shopping Centre Manager Valerie Johnson said: “We are very much looking forward to hosting Music in the Gardens again.
“It is a great event which showcases local talent and creates a really musical atmosphere here at St Marks. We will also have our giant games and deckchairs in the garden too, so all we need now is good weather!”
Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Sarah Loftus said: “We are pleased to support this popular event, which is brilliant because it allows people to stay and enjoy all of the performances or dip into the event as they please to catch their favourite performers.”
