More Lincoln businesses have thrown their support behind the exciting Lincoln Fashion Week (LFW) which is dedicated to raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support – as well as being a major treat for fashionistas countywide!
Lincoln BIG has made it easier than ever for fashion-lovers to get their tickets for the LFW glittering finale catwalk show, staged against the backdrop of Lincoln Cathedral on May 17, and another local business has also signed-up to take part.
Lincoln Fashion Week runs from May 10 to 17, but the inventor of fashion accessory SqWears, Sara Bird, is putting on a “stand alone” show – The Size Inclusive Fashion Extravaganza at The Showroom, off Tritton Road on Wednesday, May 15 at 8pm – and she is also showcasing her designs at the Lincoln Cathedral event on May 17.
LFW Fashion Finale Tickets are now available from the New Theatre Royal Lincoln and the city’s Drill Hall. Lincoln BIG also has a stand in the city’s Waterside Shopping Centre and people can buy their tickets online.
Lincoln’s Town Crier Karen Crow is also going to be “shouting all about it” when she walks from Castle Hill into the City Centre on May 10 and giving out goodie bags. People can also get their £10-a-seat Fashion Week Catwalk Finale tickets online at: www.visitlincoln.com/fashionfinale
Lincoln–based Sara Bird founded SqWears Couture in 2018, to provide plus-sized women with the chance to look and feel fabulous whatever their dress size.
Sara said: “The lack of luxury and designer clothing for the curvy woman in the fashion industry is apparent: SqWears Couture seeks to bridge this gap, enabling women to indulge in elaborate, truly glamorous and beautiful designs."
Sara, who specialises in the Couture Collection and the Diffusion Range added that they bring together the finest silks from around the world to create a “sensational synergy for women to convey their confidence through the medium of fashion.”
Each SqWear (a unique and registered design) is handmade and buyers can choose from striking prints to those with enchanting embellishments. Impeccable attention to detail is designed to ensure the “square you wear” authentically represents the brand’s luxury values.
Sara used to sell garments at “at-home” parties where women were able to see the latest designs and pick-up styling tips on how to “SqWear it your way.” Overwhelming interest in the brand led her to launch it at Pure London AW19/20.”
She went on to be invited to London Fashion Week, where she styled prolific plus-size influencer Felicity Hayward for her front-row appearance at RIXO’s catwalk.
At The Showroom event (May 15) Sara will be sharing her journey to published author and fashion guru and plenty of styling hints and tips.
