Job Title:      City Centre Warden (Street Maintenance Operative)

Lincoln Business Improvement Group (Lincoln BIG) is recruiting two new City Centre Wardens to build on the work currently carried out by the company for the city of Lincoln.

Lincoln BIG is a private sector led initiative. Working with over 800 member businesses across the retail, commercial, leisure, hospitality and public sectors, we were set up to help make a real difference to the city centre, by introducing initiatives and much-needed services that would not otherwise exist. Our vision is for Lincoln BIG to put Lincoln on the map as a retail and tourist destination and improve the experience of the city centre for businesses and people who live, work and visit here. The financial contribution is used to support key projects to improve Lincoln City Centre with a focus on three key priorities: Welcome, Experience and Value.  

Job Purpose:

The Warden is at the core of Lincoln BIG and serves to ensure the welcome, safety and security of visitors, businesses, and properties within the business improvement district area.

The role of the Warden is:

  • To ensure a visible presence on the streets within the area and to act as the eyes and ears of the company, reporting to the appropriate authority anything outside usual activity.
  • To ensure the streets and other areas are clean, maintained, and welcoming.
  • To act as a welcome host for visitors and customers of BID member businesses. •
  • Our daily link to members through a variety of supporting interactions
