Lincoln City Centre will be buzzing with creativity, science and fun on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st August 2025, as two exciting free experiences pop up at Castle Square and Cornhill Market.

Commissioned by Threshold Studios as part of the Lincoln Connected Town Deal programme, Mr Holly’s Newton-O-Matic is an interactive, physics-powered invention celebrating the legacy of Sir Isaac Newton. Designed by kinetic contraption specialist Matt Pang and produced by Mr Holly, it’s a unique blend of science, play and performance, engaging audiences of all ages with hands-on activities and surprising theatrical moments.

Meanwhile, at Cornhill , visitors can step into Lincoln BIG’s Anti-Gravity Box – a clever optical illusion where a specially constructed room and camera set-up create the mind-bending impression that you’re walking on walls! Hugely popular with children, families and adults alike, it’s also fully accessible for visitors with physical or learning disabilities, including wheelchair users.

Both attractions will run from 11am to 4pm on both days, and are completely free to enjoy.

“These activities are designed to spark imagination and get people exploring the city,” said [Insert spokesperson name], [Insert spokesperson role]. “It’s about celebrating our heritage, bringing people together, and offering something a little out of the ordinary for residents and visitors alike.”

The events also mark the start of a countdown to Newton’s 300th anniversary in 2027, with more celebrations planned in the years ahead.
