Members of the Lincoln BIG team have recently completed the Domestic Abuse Awareness course delivered by the Lincolnshire Domestic Abuse Partnership, further strengthening the organisation’s commitment to supporting both its team and the wider community.

The face-to-face training focused on recognising the signs of domestic abuse, understanding how to respond safely, and reviewing the key principles of the Domestic Abuse Act. Attendees also learned about the evolving nature of abuse, including the growing prevalence of online and digital forms.

According to recent figures, 1 in 5 adults will experience domestic abuse during their lifetime — equating to around 30,788 people in Lincolnshire, with up to 75% of those affected experiencing abuse while at work.

Yvette Mills, Security Manager at Lincoln BIG, said:
“This course was incredibly valuable, especially in a people-facing role like mine. It’s given me the knowledge and confidence to recognise the signs of domestic abuse and to take the right action if I ever have concerns.

“At Lincoln BIG, we’re committed to creating a safe, supportive environment, not just for our team, but for the businesses and individuals we work with every day.”

By taking part in this training, Lincoln BIG continues to invest in awareness and safeguarding, helping to create a community where people feel safe, informed, and supported.
