POP-ROCK GIANTS AND POP ICON ANNOUNCE HEADLINE SHOWS AT LINCOLN CASTLE
It’s All About You, Lincoln! Pop-rock powerhouses McFLY and one of the UK’s best loved pop stars Rick Astley are set to headline Lincoln Castle next summer for two unmissable shows.
Just days after completing their sold-out Busted vs McFLY arena tour, it is announced that BRIT Award-winners McFLY will take to the stage at TK Maxx presents Live at Lincoln Castle on Sunday June 14. They will be joined on the night by acclaimed rockers Twin Atlantic and dynamic pop trio Remember Monday.
On Thursday June 25, Rick Astley will headline the historic venue with very special guests Lottery Winners.
Tickets go on general sale at 10am Friday via lincolncastle.com and ticketmaster.co.uk
It’s been 22 years since McFLY first burst onto the scene — a journey that’s taken them from their breakthrough hit Five Colours In Her Hair to their 2023 full-throttle rock record Power To Play.
Along the way Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd have scored seven Number 1 singles, seven Top 10 albums, and sold more than 10 million records, leading to multiple Platinum certifications and a BRIT Award for Best British Pop. They’ve sold-out countless arenas and still hold the title as the youngest band to ever have a debut album go straight to Number 1 — famously beating The Beatles.
Last October, the band celebrated their 21st birthday in style with two sold-out nights at London’s O2 Arena, proving their live appeal burns brighter than ever. And this weekend they completed the sold-out Busted Vs McFLY arena tour – 35 dates which has seen the bands battling it out across the UK, playing to 110,000 people in London alone!
Joining McFLY will be Scottish alt-rockers Twin Atlantic, the hitmakers behind Heart and Soul and Brothers and Sisters. Opening the show will be Eurovision stars and TikTok sensations Remember Monday, whose viral anthems What the Hell Just Happened?, Happier and current single More Than Ever, have stormed the charts and racked up millions of streams.
Rick Astley leapt to fame in 1987 with the era-defining smash single Never Gonna Give You Up, followed by hits including Together Forever and Whenever You Need Somebody.
He stepped away from the spotlight, returning to attention in 2016 as he celebrated his half century back on the top of the charts with album 50.
And the still-boyish singer, songwriter and producer has stayed at the top of his game ever since, enjoying collaborations with the likes of Foo Fighters and Blossoms, show-stealing sets at Glastonbury and a number two chart position for 2023 album Are We There Yet? – contributing to more than 40million record sales worldwide.
Joining him on the night will be indie pop band Lottery Winners. Earlier this year the band racked up their second Number 1 album with the release of fourth studio album KOKO.
McFLY and Rick Astley join OMD, Deacon Blue, Alex James’ Britpop Classical, Paul Weller, Madness, Tom Grennan, Billy Ocean, Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics and David Gray among the headliners already announced for TK Maxx presents Live at Lincoln Castle 2026. The series is presented as part of an ongoing partnership with Lincolnshire County Council and Live Nation promoters Cuffe and Taylor, to bring world class artists to perform in this outstanding historic location.
Cuffe & Taylor promoter Mark Harrison said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome McFLY and Rick Astley for two headline shows at Lincoln Castle next year. These legendary artists have soundtracked generations, delivering unforgettable hits that fans of all ages know and love.
“With Twin Atlantic, Lottery Winners and Remember Monday joining the bill as very special guests, these two nights promise non-stop energy, iconic songs and magical moments in a truly stunning setting.
“And we still have even more surprises to reveal, making Lincoln Castle the ultimate destination for live music next summer.”
Cllr Natalie Oliver, executive member for culture at Lincolnshire County Council, said: "McFLY and Rick Astley are two of music's most charismatic performers of the past four decades and it will be great to see them light up the Live at Lincoln Castle stage.
"The castle is such a unique venue for live music. It has been the beating heart of the city for hundreds of years and these events show how powerfully this long heritage and outstanding cultural experiences can work together. We cannot wait to welcome thousands of music fans to experience two more brilliant nights in this special place."
