Lincoln’s 1940s Weekend Is Back in Full Swing This July! 

Step back in time and immerse yourself in the spirit of 1940s Britain with two unforgettable days of vintage fun in Lincoln’s historic Cathedral Quarter and across the city.

This much-loved, free event has become a highlight of Lincoln’s summer calendar—and this year promises to be the biggest celebration yet!

What’s On:

  • Live 1940s music and dance performances
  • Delicious food and drink from local businesses
  • Vibrant craft markets
  • Classic vehicle displays
  • Fun-filled family activities and pop-up street theatre
  • A charming Vintage Fairground with a carousel and children’s swing boats
  • Traditional games for all ages

Special Appearance:
The iconic Winston Churchill, brilliantly portrayed by Derek Herbert, will be returning this year—a crowd favourite not to be missed!

Lincoln 1940s Weekend Entertainment Programme

Step back in time and enjoy a fantastic programme of live entertainment across Uphill Lincoln throughout the weekend. From vintage vocalists and swing dancing to Winston Churchill reenactments, live bands and family-friendly activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

A flypast is expected on both Saturday and Sunday, subject to operational requirements. Timings and aircraft details will be confirmed closer to the event and updated as soon as they are available.

Best Dressed & Best Vintage Vehicle

Celebrate the spirit of the 1940s by dressing in your finest vintage attire or showcasing your beautifully restored vehicle.

This year's winners of Best Dressed and Best Vintage Vehicle will each receive an Afternoon Tea for Two at The White Hart, Lincoln.

Keep an eye out for our judges during the weekend—you never know who might be watching!

Staying Safe in the Summer Weather

If warm weather continues, please remember to:

  • Bring plenty of water and stay hydrated.
  • Apply sunscreen regularly.
  • Wear a hat and light clothing to protect yourself from the sun.
  • Take regular breaks in the shade where possible.

Join us for an unforgettable evening at the Military vs Cancer Summer Ball, held at the elegant DoubleTree by Hilton on Lincoln’s stunning waterfront. As part of the vibrant Lincoln BIG 1940s Weekend, this special event celebrates the charm, style, and spirit of a remarkable era.

The 1940’s Weekend runs from July 17th to July 19th, 10am – 5pm. The event is organised and funded by Lincoln BIG.
