Lincoln Businesses and Organisations Unite to Support Isaac Newton 300 City-Wide Art Trail

Major businesses, education partners and community organisations back Lincoln’s spectacular 2027 celebration of Isaac Newton

Lincoln is gearing up for a spectacular summer of art, science and creativity, with a growing list of businesses and organisations backing Isaac Newton 300, a ten-week city-wide Wild in Art trail coming to Lincoln in Summer 2027.

The trail will see the city transformed by a collection of large, artist-designed apple sculptures, alongside medium-sized sculptures created by local schools. Free to explore, family-friendly and fully accessible, the trail will encourage thousands of residents and visitors to discover Lincoln in a completely new way.

The project is being delivered by Lincoln BIG in partnership with Wild in Art, celebrating the 300th anniversary of the death of Isaac Newton and his enduring connection to Lincolnshire.

Trail Partners

Charity Partner – Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance

Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance will be the official Charity Partner for Isaac Newton 300. The trail will provide opportunities to raise awareness and vital funds for the lifesaving work of the charity, whose doctors and paramedics provide critical care across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

Creative Partner – Ruddocks

Lincoln-based creative production agency Ruddocks is supporting the trail as Creative Partner. With a long history of delivering creative solutions for organisations across the country, Ruddocks has helped establish the creative identity for Isaac Newton 300.

A Celebration for the Whole City

Isaac Newton 300 will run for ten weeks from Tuesday 30 June – 22 September 2027, creating an outdoor gallery across Lincoln.

Visitors will be able to explore the city and discover the sculptures while enjoying a programme of family activities, community events, school involvement and opportunities to learn more about Newton's life, work and legacy.

The trail will also provide a platform for local artists, schools and businesses to showcase their creativity and connect with residents and visitors.

More Than an Art Trail

While the sculptures will be the centrepiece of the project, Isaac Newton 300 is being designed to create a much wider legacy.

Schools will be involved through their own sculpture trail, giving young people the opportunity to develop their creativity and become part of the city's celebration.

The project will also explore Newton's legacy through science, innovation, education and discovery, with opportunities for businesses, schools and community organisations to develop their own activities around the trail.

Following the trail, the sculptures will be auctioned, providing businesses and organisations with the opportunity to acquire a unique piece of the project and create a lasting legacy.
