Lincoln BIG are bringing their fourth Wild in Art event to Lincoln in support of our Charity Partner, Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.  Isaac Newton 300 will be a city-wide sculpture trail in Summer 2027 to mark the 300th anniversary of Sir Isaac Newton’s death and create a lasting positive impact on Lincoln.

We are inviting artists, illustrators, and designers, primarily from the local area, to create engaging and inspirational artwork that will bring our apples to life.  The call out to artists information pack is attached to this email together with the design templates (side 1 and side 2).

The apple sculpture is a versatile 3D canvas suitable for a wide range of creative approaches, from fine art and graffiti to new media and mosaic. The form also connects directly to Isaac Newton and his discovery of gravity. Each apple is 110 cm high and 100 cm across. Please check that you are available to paint an apple between March and April 2027 before applying.

We will be hosting an Artist Information Evening on Tuesday 6 October 2026, 5.30 pm – 7 pm at Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance HQ, Waddington in October 2026.  This session will be to outline the project, our Charity Partner, 'dos and don'ts' for designs including themes and best practices and considerations too. This will be an informal event where you can chat to us and ask any question.   We will also have our prototype sculpture for you to see the blank canvas.  To attend please RSVP to [email protected] by 28 September 2026.

The Submission deadline is 11.59 pm on Sunday 6 December 2026:

  • Designs should respond to themes of Lincolnshire eg Big skies, countryside, seaside, agriculture, culture, heritage, innovators and innovation, aviation to name but a few.
  • Designs will be shortlisted by a panel and presented to sponsors at a Sponsor Selection Event on Tuesday 2 February 2027.

To submit your designs, please complete the online form at https://bit.ly/ArtistApple

Please note that this form cannot be saved as you go, so we recommend drafting your submission in Word first and copying it into the form when you are ready to submit.
